DEGREE,
BRACKET GAP CHALLENGE

As a Senior Program Manager at Yahoo, I led the execution of the Degree Bracket Gap Challenge, a groundbreaking campaign designed to promote equality for female athletes and raise awareness for the NCAA Women’s Basketball Championship. Partnering with Degree and Yahoo Creative Studios, I oversaw the creation of a dynamic, fully custom-built microsite, that combined interactive content, innovative experiences, and mission-driven storytelling that encouraged users to engage with the bracket challenge while spotlighting Degree’s mission to close the visibility gap for women in sports.

This multi-phase campaign included custom-built microsite updates for each stage of the NCAA tournament, incorporating inspirational, educational, and entertaining content. Additionally, we integrated a proprietary API from Yahoo’s sweepstakes vendor to manage sign-ups and participation.

The campaign achieved impressive results:

  • 40K users engaged

  • 6K brackets created

This initiative demonstrated the power of interactive and mission-driven content, creating a memorable experience for fans and advancing Degree’s advocacy for female athletes. The Degree Bracket Gap Challenge successfully united innovation, empowerment, and fan engagement into a slam dunk campaign (pun intended)!
