McDonald’s,
employee reputation

As a Senior Program Manager at Yahoo, I led the execution of McDonald’s Canada’s award-winning "Crush the Rush Crew" interactive campaign, designed to attract a new generation of restaurant crew members and drive job application submissions. This innovative desktop and mobile web-based game challenged users to manage drive-thru food orders during a virtual lunchtime rush, combining engaging gameplay with a direct link to career opportunities.

In this role, I managed the collaboration between McDonald’s Canada’s creative agency, our internal creative team, and a third-party vendor to design and build the game’s UX/UI. The visually captivating game featured a 3D McDonald’s drive-thru environment and seven diverse employee characters, immersing players in a fast-paced, realistic restaurant experience. The game delivered a high-quality 3D experience directly on the web, requiring no app download. Players could compete, share high scores, and seamlessly apply for jobs, integrating entertainment with recruitment goals.

The campaign achieved remarkable results:

  • 197k users

  • 5.8M items cooked

  • 2.1M orders served

Recognized with a Yahoo Brandblazers Award for Excellence in Showstopping Creative, the "Crush the Rush Crew" campaign demonstrated the impact of interactive content, driving engagement and delivering tangible recruitment outcomes for McDonald’s Canada.
